Agora Foundation

Agora Foundation is a charitable organization whose work is focused on building the capacity of small and emerging organizations in the charitable sector.

Under the direction of Leslie Wright, Novita developed a new, three year program that provided organizational capacity building resources and supports to small and emerging organizations in Toronto.

This work included developing the Sage Centre/Agora Foundation collaboration funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation that explored approaches to organizational models and capacity work. Additionally, the Foundation acts as a charitable home for new and emerging projects that include youth led organizations, neighbourhood-based projects, community arts, homelessness and housing and collaborative networks. This work also included supporting the Ken Dryden Scholarship program for young people coming out of the care of the Children’s Aid Societies.

The Foundation is also the publisher of The Philanthropist, a journal that focuses on articles of interest and assistance to the management directors of Canadian foundations and charities and their legal and financial advisors.
