Economic Impact of Culture in Burlington

Burlington is a city of 165,000 located between Hamilton and Toronto and is part of the Golden Horseshoe economic region of Ontario. The city of Burlington has grown rapidly over the last few decades and its community culture and cultural industries have kept apace.

Novita surveyed the arts and cultural industries in Burlington in order to provide an overview of the economic impact of culture in Burlington. The principal intent of the study was to provide economic benchmarks for culture in 2007 with the objective of laying the groundwork for assessing the changes in the economic impact of culture at the end of the City’s 10-Year Cultural Strategy period in 2016.
