Fredericton Playhouse
Built in the 1960s as the Beaverbrook Auditorium, the 750-seat Fredericton Playhouse was acquired by the City in 2000 and re-animated as a municipal arts centre. The Playhouse operates as a presenting organization and takes a leadership role in cultural development in Fredericton. It is one of the most active and successful civic theatre complexes in Canada.
At the height of its success, the Playhouse wisely undertook to secure its long term future by commissioning a long term institutional plan. In 2003, we prepared a long-range plan for governance, marketing, program delivery and a plan for facility development.
In 2004, we led a planning and consultation exercise that included market analysis, stakeholder consultations, board governance and policy development and business planning.
In 2006, the Board engaged us to conduct a full-scale facility assessment including a building condition report, functional efficiency analysis, and capital renovation plan. The completed plan recommended a $25 million capital program.
