Cultural Master Plan, Newmarket

The Town of Newmarket was first settled more than 200 years ago and remained for most of this time as a community of fewer than 5,000 persons. At the end of the 20th century in a period of 30 years, Newmarket’s population soared to 90,000.

Novita was engaged to create a Cultural Master Plan which would provide the Town with actionable recommendations for bringing cultural services, programs and facilities quickly up to the same level as other municipal services.

You can view the final Cultural Master Plan on the Town of Newmarket's website or download it directly.

"Novita challenged, empowered and educated us on our inherent potential to ignite a cultural focus for our collective future. Our recently adopted Cultural Master Plan (Newmarket's first ever) will be a catalyst for collaborative creative energies across all commissions,  departments, community organizations and individuals. It is a tangible, challenging yet attainable focal document that will position  Newmarket as a creative hub. Novita was instrumental and professional throughout - the entire consultant team was a pleasure to work  with." - Ian McDougall, Director of Recreation & Culture, Town of Newmarket
