Performing Arts Centre, Sudbury

Novita has been working with the City of Greater Sudbury since spring 2007 on a project which will use arts and culture as the driver for revitalization of the downtown core. Working closely with the Planning Department and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Novita is developing a Community Improvement Plan which will create a Cultural District consisting of both publicly and privately funded projects. The outcomes for the plan include benefits to every cultural organization within the City including anglophone, multicultural, francophone and First Nations communities.

Within the overall planning framework for the Arts District in Sudbury, Novita examined options for a civic performing arts centre to serve the city and the region. We provided both a business plan and a capital plan, analyzing the current level and scale of artistic activity in the Greater Sudbury area.
